Let the gamer beware, Forsake this game!

Condolences, dear seekers, for Perfect World Entertainment's Forsaken World (formerly "Project EM"/PEM), MMORPG. This site was once filled with hope, but now serves as a warning to gamers with even the slightest glimmer of interest.

Forsaken World has been released in "Open Beta", and brings SHAME to PWE and it's parent Company, PWB (Perfect World Beijing). FW is a Flagship of Corporate Greed, and Poor Craftsmanship..

"Come, mourn with me! Practice well your Dirges, your Nocturnes, and your Vespers! Come grieve with me, Dark Children, and together we shall conduct a Grand Funeral, scored in blood!"

We shall hunt elsewhere for the promises left unfulfilled by this Forsaken World.

Player perspectives: Vahrna

Hey, there, seekers!
Got something a little different. Something that I want to incorporate into this journal...YOU.
Sure, this may be "my" blog, but without YOU, the seeker, it's nothing, so I want to know what YOU are about, in the coming Forsaken World. To start this, and to give you the idea of what we're aiming for, I've asked my friend from the Perfect World Forums, and current converser in the ( Officially Unofficial Forums) to contribute this first "Player Perspective" article.Vahrna was selected for a zeal for FW that mirrors my own.

Vahrna writes to us from Germany.

AutumnalDusk asked me to become a guest writer for “Forsaken Journal”, since I too am very much looking forward to Forsaken World, Perfect World Entertainment's upcoming blockbuster game.

First, allow me to tell you that Perfect World Entertainment and I have a history. As a matter of fact, I played Perfect World (PWI) for quite a long time,(although in the end, I had to give up because the dependency on the item shop cost me too much money, money I didn't have at that time). I participated in Jade Dynasty's closed beta and open beta, but quit at level 60 due to the immense amount of grind, though I loved Jade Dynasty's factions, especially the Modo. Now, you could call me more of a “casual player”, I take my time to level and am generally someone who enjoys the journey, not the hardcore grind to end-level.

But on to Forsaken World. For me,It all began with an article on mmosite. At that time, I was honestly a bit aggravated by the amount of grind in all of Perfect World's games and at the same interface of all games, so at first, I wasn't very interested. At that time, Forsaken World was still under the codename EM. I think it was when I saw the races in Forsaken World that I became interested.

Now, Perfect World does some things very well, and one reason I am trying their new games out, and one of those things they do well is to make interesting races. (And if a Vampire race isn't interesting, I don't know what is). The other races, even though more "traditional", looked very well done too. The more information I got, the more the game began to interest me. It seems like it has many features I have always wanted to see, (for example, that the history of the game can be influenced by players. That means players will actually see the world changing as the eras go by and can finally really change something).
I also loved the idea that they designed the game to not only appeal to Asian, but also American and European players. While graphics aren't everything, seeing such beautifully designed castles in the background, a very realistic looking, but also fantasy-themed environment gives off a very good first impression.

Perfect World's graphics have always appealed to me, but Forsaken World's blow me away. It looks smooth and breathtakingly gorgeous. I also wouldn't mind if Forsaken World had the same customization options to make your character unique that Perfect World has. (I was a bit sad to see all these options to change body, completely create your own face and adjust your character to your needs is totally lacking in Perfect World's newer games (like Jade Dynasty, Ether Saga or Kung Foo!) and am hopeful that Forsaken World will allow for vast customization.

But not only that, I am also excited to see many intriguing skills in Forsaken World (a first video, though not in perfect quality, showed some very interesting ones) . At the same time, I hope the grind will be toned down and make place for other features: Perfect World always has good pet system and this game will allow to tame a mob and make it your very own, the "Soul Pk" that will hopefully be an blessing for Pvp-lovers, the chance to become a deity, floating guild fortresses with huge guild battles...the list goes on and I'm sure many more features will be revealed with time.

It's the overall feel of the game that makes me so excited. Many games I played felt incomplete and unappealing, "bland" or "mediocre". But in Forsaken World, it seems everything fits well together, starting from the enthralling graphics, to the fantastic music that pulls you right in (at least, from the samples I heard so far), the classes (Bard and Blood Controller are classes you rarely see in a free to play!) and the races. If now there is an interesting story and a balanced class system, I know I will find myself playing it a very long time. I have been searching for such a mmorpg for years now, hopping from one to another.

This Forsaken World may become my home.

So, will Forsaken World be a Perfect World clone? I won't say ‘no’ until I have played it, but from what I have heard so far, I find it hard to believe. I can only advise everyone to try it out. Taking a little venture into this "other" world won't hurt you and we may all end up gaining a fantastic game.

I will be waiting for more news on Forsaken World and hope to see many players there when closed beta begins.

(End)

Thank you, Vahrna, for taking the time to share with us, and I look forward to battling alongside you in Grand Mundo. And I share your sentiments, too. It looks like my days of "MMO drift" may be over.
If *you*, the seeker , want to add your voice to our growing community, email me at AutumnalDusk@Gmail.com. I want voices from all over the world. (And I have that flag tracker, so I know where you're all at, muah-ha-ha! (Yeah, I'm looking at YOU, Canada, Australia, and Hungary! ) ;)

Until then, Be Well!
